Sprouts Salad – Healthy Mid Meal Snack

Another light and refreshing salad recipe to beat the heat. Summer is at its peak and the best way to beat it is to eat light. Having said that this recipe is a basic sprout salad.

I have used all the basic salad ingredients and I pair it best with some grilled fish/ chicken and some garlic bread. Or you can just grouch it down as a mid meal / evening snack. Either ways its healthy and light.

Sprouts salad

I recommend to chill this salad for 10-15 min before serving, this just intensifies the flavours. The sauce recipe is basic but you can obviously go many ways with flavours, toppings and salad ingredients. You can also use mayonnaise if you want extra richness.

So lets begin:

Directions to make sprouts salad-

Ingredients-

1 cup whole moong dal sprouts
1 small onion finely chopped
1 small cucumber cut in small cubes
1 quarter slices of apple chopped finely
Handful of lettuce chopped
1 small tomato finely chopped
1 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup hung curd

Method:

Boil water and cook sprouts for max 1 min. It will be a little crunchy.

Drain and let it cool.

Now beat the curd well until creamy. Add salt and pepper.

Now mix all the salad ingredient with sprouts. Add the curd mix.

Mix well to combine. Chill for 10-15 mins.

Garnish with lemon wedge.

Serve and enjoy!!
