As a new parent all I could think of was how to be a good parent! What would make me a good mom? And I spent ginormous time of my pregnancy on the internet searching for how to be a good parent.
Little did I know it did not work that way.
I did get some amazing advice on the internet but at the same time googling everything came with its own cons as well. I would take advice from a fellow mom any day over a generic article.
If you google a simple ‘baby puking milk’ you will come up with 10 different scenario and then redirected to the worst GERD and eventually will convince yourself that your baby may have that. At least that’s what I did.

And this was just when my baby was small. It took me a while to get to being a confident parent.
Here are my 3 Top Parenting Fails And How To Avoid Them!
- Unrealistic Expectation– A baby / toddler/ child has their own routine, timings, moods, tantrums, likes, dislikes which has nothing to do with your parenting or who you are as a person. Your baby may cry their lungs out or throw a tantrum or be stubborn; it has nothing to do with you. They are small and this is bound to happen. Putting realistic expectation and burdening yourself with anything wrong that they do will be your fault. Instead love your kids over anything they do and they will grow up soon enough.
- Being Inconsistent- with routine or your behavior can be harmful as your child will not be able to judge how to react around you. And as they grow up this can turn into fear of expressing themselves over the fact that they would know how you’d react.
- Failing to listen/ being present- With digital space taking up so much of our time its time to acknowledge how much time do we actually spend with our kids and how much do we actually listen. Being pre-occupied with work/ chores is normal but spend some free time with your kid and you’d be surprise how much you will get to know about them.
