Aloo Pitika is a signature dish from Assam and it’s made with mashed potatoes.
Potatoes are mashed and then some basic ingredients are added as flavor enhances. It is served with some rice and sambal; usually as a side dish.
While preparing this it almost feel a like I am making cold mashed potatoes. ? Really it’s true.
But the flavor was out of this world. I mean I am not a fan of eating raw mustard oil so was skeptical in the begining. Make a very small batch with just two potatoes, but within a day in between made it again. My son really liked it as a snack so omitted the green chillies for him?
For this month challenge Assam Cuisine was selected. And it’s a great way of making delicious food that we wouldn’t normally eat or make.
Some cuisines are more famous than others but the gems of recipes in these hidden cuisine are marvellous. I am glad to be a part if this initiative.
I was partner with Shobha Keswani who blogs at Shobha’s Food Mazaa. For this mins theme she made

Simple yet flavorful !
Thank you
Simple and delicious side dish.
Thankyou
I love simple dishes that are quick to put together. I too initially didn’t like the smell of mustard oil but then it adds so much flavor to the dish.
That’s true. But it turned out so well. ??
