Oven Baked Chicken Malai Tikka is a savior at times when all you gotta do is marinade and cook. That’s It.
Easy to make no prep chicken malai tikka baked in oven and still so juicy. Its one of my favorite recipe. So simple and easy to make. Really malai/fresh cream and some masala’s is all there is to it!! I prefer to add ginger garlic for flavor but really its options. Rest masala’s are that you may already have it in your kitchen. SO are you ready to make them now!!
What If You Don’t Have An Oven??
No worries if you don’t. Simply burn up some mustard oil and cook the chicken in it until its done. I would suggest to start with a very high heat and then gradually when the outer skin is whitened and all sealed up cook on low until its done. Serve with some chopped salad with chaat masala and lime wedges.
Having a party or not this starter/ appetizer is sure to gather attention. Give its due for sure; its bound to make some family time. At least it did for me!!
Directions To Make Oven Baked Chicken Malai Tikka-
Ingredients:
500 gm of chicken on the bone
1/2 cup of thick malai/fresh cream
2 tbsp of ghee or olive oil + more for basting
3 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Salt as per taste
1 tbsp of chicken or meat masala
1/2 tsp of black pepper powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp lemon juice
Method:
Clean the chicken and remove any fat.
Once you have washed the chicken, pat it dry with a cloth.
Make slits for masala to reach within. Or you can poke the chicken with fork.
Mix all the ingredients and marinade chicken for at least 4 hours.
* I like to massage the chicken with the marinade. It gives great flavor.
Preheat the oven for 10 mins at 200 C.
Place the chicken pieces near but not joining on skewers. Brush one coat of oil.
Bake for 15 mins. Flip the pieces and brush oil once more.
Cook for another 15 mins or til done.
Baking time may vary as per the size of your chicken pieces and the temperature of your oven.
Enjoy with a side of salad topped with chaat masala.
PS
If you have a tandoor or an outdoor grill, the same recipe works good for that too.
