Garlic Hummus With Smoked Paprika

Hummus or houmous is essentially a famous dip/ spread used widely in Lebanese and middle eastern cuisine.

It’s essentially made from cooked and mashed chickpeas. We are so used to make our usual chole out of them that it’s kind of difficult to eat and like something so different. I once made this dip and served with nachos and no one was able to guess that it’s made of chickpeas.

It is a healthy alternative to mayonnaise  based dishes. I have used it in wraps, sandwiches, toast, salads. And it’s easy to prepare also.

Ingredients:

1 cup cooked chickpeas
10ml extra virgin olive oil
2-3 tbsp geek yogurt/thick yogurt/strained yogurt(if you want to substitute with tahini use-1tbsp tahini paste)
1tsp garlic paste
Coriander leaves(optional)
Half lemon
Salt as per taste
Smoked paprika

Method :

In a blender add everything to make a smooth paste. Add lemon. Top with smoked paprika.

Spread on a toast and enjoy.

    1. Tahini is simply toasted seasame and olive oil paste. Its expensive to get the jarred stuff so I tried to replace it with thick curd and worked just fine. Yes hummus will be more creamy with Tahini.
