Is green smoothie good for weight loss?
This green smoothie is packed with fruit and veg to give you a great energy boost or a quick pick me up drink. Its packed with nutrients and fibre must for weighloss.
Can I freeze the green smoothie?
No you can not prepare and freeze the smoothie. However you can prep the ingredients before hand and make smoothie when you need. All the fruit and veg can be frozen in a zip lock bag for one portion smoothie use.
Can I use banana in the green smoothie?
Yes, most definitely you can. You can even use a frozen banana. That does give a thicker consistency and more body to the smoothie.
Can I use frozen fruit to make green smoothie?
Yes, its a great idea to use frozen fruit for this recipe.
Can I use regular spinach instead of baby spinach?
Baby spinach is recommended to use because they are tender and sweet. Regular spinach can be a little bitter and turn the over all taste bitter. But yes still can be used.
Can I substitute spinach with anything else?
Since its a green smoothie you can substitute spinach with any other green like kale, chards etc.
Can I use milk if I dont need green smoothie to be vegan?
Yes, you can use regular milk for this recipe too. However if your goal is to loose weight then its a good idea to use any plant based milk like almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk or oats milk.
Can I use coconut water to replace ice?
Yes, I often freeze fresh coconut milk to use in recipes like this.
Can I use a green apple in this recipe?
Yes, you can use any type of apple available to you.
Directions to make green smoothie-
Ingredients-
1 cup baby spinach
1/2 apple
1/2 cup pineapple
1 tsp flax seeds powder
1 inch ginger peeled
1/2 cup curd/greek yogurt or vegan yogurt(for vegan)
1/4 cup almond milk
6-7 ice cubes or use frozen coconut water instead
Method-
In a blender add the spinach, apple and pineapple.
Add flax seed powder, ginger, yogurt, ice and almond milk.
Blend everything together to form a liquid smoothie.
Pour in a tall glass and enjoy!
