Suji Ka Halwa, Sheera Recipe

How often do you make something delicious and yet instantly. I am sure most of us know how to make suji ka halwa but there must be some newbie  who are still learning the basics to making halwa. So this is a good place to start. You have very less possibility of going wrong and the turnout possibility is good.

Suji ka halwa

This was a spur of the moment, hubby demanded halwa and so got me thinking of writing a post. It have used minimal ghee and sugar in it which can be altered as your choice.

Directions to make suji ka halwa-

Ingredients:

1/2 cup suji/ sooji/rawa
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar( less if you like less sweet)
1/4 cup ghee

Method:

In a heavy bottom pan heat ghee and start frying suji. I have used less ghee so on low flame I took good 10 mins to roast suji.

Till suji is roasting warm the water with sugar. Don’t boil water. Just warm till sugar dissolves.

Once suji is light brown evenly from roasting add the sugar water.

Mix immediately to avoid any lumps.

Mix well and serve. You can add dry fruits of your choice.

You can use more ghee as using less ghee results in a bit dry halwa as you can see in the picture.
