Kaju Modak

Modak made with cashews/kaju. Traditional sweets for prasadam during Ganpati.

  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar (use less as per taste)
  • 1/4 cup ful fat milk
  • 1 cup powdered cashews
  • 1/4 tsp ghee to grease the modak mold


  1. In a pan start by mixing milk and sugar. Cook this till the milk starts to evaporate and mixture thicken almost like condense milk.

  2. Now ass the cashew mixture. Cook but don't let it brown(use very low heat).

  3. The mixture should leave the sides, its done. Switch of the gas and let it cool enough to handle.

  4. Using aa modak mold(grease the molds) make modak's, its ready!!

Recipe Notes

Add little kesar with milk for a variety of flavor.
