  • 1 cup Mawa
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder green elichi
  • 8-9 saffron strands mix with 2 tbsp warm milk
  • 2-3 drops yellow food coloring optional


  1. Grate mawa and prep all the ingredients before starting.

  2. Now on low heat mix mawa, sugar, saffron milk and cook.

  3. Keep stirring. 

  4. As it cooks the mixture will become like a mass. Dont over dry it as it will thicken even after its cooked.

  5. Now cool the mixture enough to handle.

  6. Grease the modak mould and shape the modak, its ready!!
