Directions To Make The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies-

Ingredients-

1 cup salted soft butter **see notes

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp vanilla extract

3 cups all purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cup chocolate chips or chocolate chunks(use less or more as you prefer)

Method-

Preheat the oven to 170°C for 15 mins.

In a bowl add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix and keep aside.

In a large bowl add sugar and soft butter. Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.

Crack one egg at a time and keep mixing.

Add vanilla essence.

Add in the dry ingredients that we mixed earlier.

Mix it to make a wet dough.

Lastly add in the chocolate chips and in my case I added chocolate chunks.

Fold in till well combined.

On a baking try with parchment paper drop 1 tbsp dough 2 inches apart. You can also use an ice cream scooper to measure cookie dough and drop them directly on the baking tray!

Bake them for 8-10 mins.

The cookies will expand while baking. Its quite easy to burn them. So keep an eye after 8 mins. Remove them as soon as the edges turn brown.

**for a more hard cookies bake for an extra 2 mins.

These cookies will be soft after you remove them from the oven. Wait for 2 mins before transferring then to a wire rack to cool completely.

Store in an air tight container.

Enjoy!

Notes-

  1. Butter needs to be soft. It simply means measure the butter and place on the counter before baking. It will be soft/room temperature.
  2. Please dont skip the brown sugar. Its the essence of this recipe.
  3. Use chocolate chips or any chopped chocolate of your choice, dark or milk chocolate.
  4. Salt in the recipe counters the sweet. Dont skip. If using salted butter then no need to add salt.
  5. This recipe makes 30 cookies.
