
Modak made in chocolate flavor. Sweets for ganesh chaturthi as offered for prasadam.
Prepare all the ingredients before making modak.
Grease modak mold lightly and keep aside.
In a pan(i used nonstick) heat mawa on a low flame.
Mawa will start melting, add sugar at this stage. Cook but make sure that mawa does not turn brown. Also add elichi powder.
Now also quickly as the chocolate chips or cocoa powder.
If you add chocolate chips it will take time for it to dry out into a thick mass. If you add cocoa powder the mixture will dry faster. But taste in both case will be different.
Now as soon as the mixture leaves the pan. Switch of the gas.
Let it cool down enough to handle.
Fill the modak mold completely, close it and they will come out in shape of a modak.
Repeat with all the mixture. Its ready.
