If you want to jazz up oats; my Masala Oats Recipe is perfect.
Over the years oats have gained popularity and everybody wants to include them in their diet to remain healthy. But what beyond those boiled oats or the prepacked / pre seasoned oats. Oh we can do better than that.
My husband doesn’t likes oats at all. Whenever I say OATS; he says NOOOOO??
So it was disappointing that he didn’t like my usual prep. I had to think of something to make him eat oats.(the main reason was that I didn’t want to make something else for him separately???). Even its great option for kids. I am sure they will love this chatpata version of oats.
So I thought of converting it to this. Its basically oats converted bhel?
Amazingly it works!!! YAY me?
Directions to make Masala Oats-
Ingredients:
2 medium onions chopped lengthwise
1 tomato chopped in cubes
1 large potato chopped in cubes
7-8 peices French beans chopped
Salt & pepper to taste
Green chillies as per taste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1&1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup fine sev
Juice of half lime
4-5 peices chat papri
Coriander for garnish
Chat masala for sprinkling (optional)
Method:
Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Now saute onions till they become soft.
Now add potato’s and French beans. Let it cook till soft.
Add masalas and cook for 30 sec. Now add oats and add 1 cup water. Cook till water is absorbed by oats. If still it needs more water gradually add 1/2 cup at a time so that it does not become pastey.
If you like crunchy veg, cook the oats seperately in some water for about 3-5 mins and then add to veggies.
You can serve as it is or serve like I did.
Put one serving on a plate. Spread the sev on top. Now tomatoes and coriander for garnish. Now squeeze the lemon juice and sprinkle chat masala.
Enjoy!!
