One of the most ordered paneer recipe in restaurants and now you can make it in the comfort of your home.
Directions to make Kadai Paneer-
Restaurant style kadai paneer in 30 mins with a simple hack for making masala.
- 250 gm Paneer(cottage cheese)
- 1 whole capsicum chopped in big squares
- 1 whole onion chopped in big chunks
- 1 whole tomato(optional) chopped in squares after removing seeds
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tej patta
- 1 whole black cardamom (Moti elichi)
- 1 Onion roughly chopped
- 5-6 Big tomatoes roughly chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 5-6 tbsp Oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp fresh cream
-
In a heavy bottom pan heat the oil.
-
Meanwhile blend the onion, tomato and ginger garlic paste mentioned in masala; in to a smooth mix.
-
Pour in hot oil. Cook on high flame till the oil separate. If the masala starts to stick at the bottom add a splash of water.
-
This is an important step, you can't proceed further if you don't see the oil floating on the sides. It means that the masala is cooked.
-
Now remove the masala from the pan in other plate.
-
Heat some butter in the same pan. Add the tej patta and moti elichi.
-
After 10-15 sec add the chopper onion, capsicum and tomato. Sauce them till slightly roasted. I did this on high flame for about a min and a half.
-
Pour back the masala. Add in the spices and salt.
-
Finally add the paneer cubes. Let it rest with the masala for 5 mins to absorb the flavored from masala.
-
Lastly add the 2 tbsp cream. Mix well. Cook for another 1 mins and its done.
-
Enjoy with roti or paratha.
