The bread that sells in the name of brown bread is colored with molasses or brown color. Will do a whole wheat bread post soon but today I am sharing an experiment with oats in my bread and it came out amazing. I could eat this bread just as it is. Yum!!!

Directions to make Oats Bread with honey glaze-

Ingredients:

For bread-

1 cup oats

1 cup all purpose flour or wholewheat flour

1 tsp honey

1 1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp instant yeast

2 tsp oil+ more for kneading

About 3/4 cup to 1 cup water for kneading

For honey glaze-

3 tbsp honey

2 tsp butter

A pinch of nutmeg

Method:

Mix together flour, honey, salt, yeast and oil. Knead with water in a soft dough.

Leave it to rest covered in a warm place for 90 mins to max 2 hours. Dough should be almost doubled by then.

Please note that since we have added oats the texture will show that.

Now punch the dough down and knead again for a minute.

Roll the dough like a rectangle( as much as the size of your pan) and start rolling into a log pinching all the way. Make sure you pinch the edge tightly otherwise it will open during baking. Transfer to your baking pan. Let it rest for 30 min.

Preheat the oven at 180°C.

After 30 mins of resting brush with milk generously. You can also  the top with oats and flax seeds.

Bake for 25 mins or till center comes out clean on a tooth pick.

Meanwhile its baking take honey, butter & nutmeg in a sauce pan and cook for about a min to create a thick concussion.

As soon as the bread is out of the oven brush this conclusion all over the bread generously.

Let it cool in the pan for about an hour and then take it out. You can slice it when its cooled completely.

Enjoy with your tea!!

The bread taste sweet and salty. Just yum!!

I have topped it with some flax seeds and oats for texture. Right when its out of the oven slather it with a butter & honey concussion which makes it even more irresistible.
