Sooji/ Rawa Toast | Semolina & Cream Veg Toast | Easy 15 min Breakfast

Sooji/ Rawa toast is essentially creamy open sandwhich kind of toast enjoyed as breakfast with a hot cup of tea.

While growing up we used to have sooji toast in breakfast at least once a week. Too much…Naah!! Its actually a quick fix.

Its areally simple, fast and tasty breakfast made in 15 mins. Get chopping, mix…mix and toast either on a non stick skillet or bake in oven. Easy as this. We have all had this breakfast growing up. Its our desi cheese grilled sandwich version.??

Versions of Sooji/ Rawa Toast that I have tried and are awesome.

  1. Red chilies(long and big one’s), onions and basil.
  2. Onions, tomato’s, capsicum and carrot(grated).
  3. Red & yellow bell pepper, zucchini.
  4. Onions and boiled potato’s.

Give me this breakfast twice a week and I will not complain. Even my toddler loves it so much. Its easy to make and oil free as the malai/cream does all the work. And comm’on I know its malai and fatty and all but we eat cheese so why not our desi stuff. Great tiffin item and evening snack too?

Directions to make Sooji/ Rawa Toast-

5 tbsp malai/fresh cream

5 tbsp sooji/ semolina

1 large onion finely chopped

1 large tomato’s finely chopped

1 large green capsicum finely chopped

1 large carrot grated

Salt & pepper as per taste

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and leave for 5 mins.

Take your bread slices. Spread the filling on the top.

Place on the mild hit tawa/ skillet. Once browned enough flip it and let it cook on low heat till you see bit of moisture leaving the sides.

You can also bake this in a preheated oven at 200°C for 5-7 mins until crispy.

Now flip it directly on your serving plate.

This recipe makes 5-6 slices.
