Who doesn’t love them some crispy fried potato wedges??

Come evening and my kiddo is yearning for something to eat. He’s 5 now so he has his preferences plus nowdays he’s very demanding.

Mumma kuch accha khane ka do, pls?!

Which mom hasn’t heard this line??

You can also bake these fries but I have deep fried them. Look for baking option at the end of recipe.

Ingredients
  • 5-6 medium size Potatoes
  • 2-3 tbsp corn flour or rice flour
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt as per taste
Optional to add
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried herbs/chilli flakes/oregano/italian seasoning
  • 1-2 tbsp oilve oil only if you are baking them
Instructions
  1. In a bowl peel the potato and chop in thick wedges.

  2. Now make sure you pat dry the potato very well.

  3. In a bowl add potatos, corn flour, salt, red chilli powder. Mix well.

  4. Heat oil in a kadai or wok.

  5. Now Fry the potatoes in medium flame in two batched. Dont over crowd the potatoes.

  6. Drain and keep aside.

  7. Now heat the oil to hot and flash fry the potatoes once again in two batches.

  8. serve with ketchup and enjoy!!

Recipe Notes

For baking the wedges add oil in the potato and do not add corn flour. Mix with all the optional herbs.

Now arrange on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and spread the potato wedges. Do not over lap the potatoes. Bake at 200C for 15-20 mins.
