Directions to make HomeStyle Butter Chicken-

Ingredients:

500gm  chicken
750gm tomatoes *choose tomatoes with more pulp not Desi tomato
2tsp ginger garlic paste
3-4 tbsp yoghurt
2 tbsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
Salt as per taste
1/2 tbsp Garam masala
1 & 1/2 Coriander powder
3/4 cup cream
2 tbsp butter
Kasturi methi a handful (optional)
1 tbsp Sugar

Method:

For marinating chicken-

Mix yoghurt, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste (1tsp) with chicken. Set aside for 6-8 hours.

Grill the chicken till almost cooked. Keep aside.( I have used my grill tawa)

Or use oven at grill mode for 30 mins at 200°C

For gravy-

Place the tomatoes in large vessel for boiling.

After 20 mins the tomatos are blanced. Once cooled blend into a smooth puree.(you can strain the puree for a smoother texture)

Hear butter with 1tsp oil in a heavy bottom pan. Add ginger garlic paste and cook but do not burn. Add the tomatoes, salt, red chilli powder and cook till oil seperates from the masala.

Now add chicken and cook for about 5 mins. Add the cream (and kasturi methi). Mix well. Adjust the consitency of gravy with water if required. Add sugar in the end. I have cooked it further for thicker consistency.

Enjoy with hot laccha paratha!!

Can’t make it now.
